WHAT IS REHEATED?
Hogs of War Reheated is an official remaster of the original PS1 classic - Hogs of War. The game is being made via a brand new engine, created in part from the original Hogs Source Code. The initial goal of this project is to provide a graphical update to Hogs of War, alongside some UI upgrades, refining gameplay and potentially some extras as well. The project as a whole is still in its early stages, so every aspect of the game that has been showcased in articles, videos and online discussions is still WIP (work in progress).

HOW DID IT START?
The project began in 2019 after a student at Sheffield Hallam University started his Masters Thesis, titled "Hogs of War: A case study for Remastering Classic PlayStation games." That student was none other than Luke Melville, who's lecturer at the time just so happened to be the former lead programmer of the original Hogs game - Jacob Habgood. The pair approached former Gremlins Founder, Ian Stewart, about the idea of a remaster and the project snowballed from there.

BUT WHO OWNS THE RIGHTS TO HOGS?
The story of who owns the IP for Hogs of War can seem pretty confusing, so to help - here's a little timeline:
1984 - Ian Stewart & Kevin Norburn founded Gremlin Graphics Software.
1994 - Gremlin change their name to Gremlin Interactive Limited.
1997/8 - Hogs of War development starts.
1999 - Infogrames acquire Gremlin Interactive Limited. Development of Hogs of War restarts.
2000 - Hogs of War is released, Ian Stewart proceeds to leave the company.
Early to Mid 2000s - Ian Stewart creates a new company Urbanscan Limited.
Upon founding Urbanscan, Ian proceeded to acquire the back catalogue of games from his former company, which included the IP for Hogs of War.

WHEN WILL REHEATED BE RELEASED?
At present there is no release date for Reheated. The team are still working away on the project. This site will be updated as soon as we receive news from the team.
WHAT PLATFORM IS IT FOR?
Initial plans are to release Hogs of War Reheated on PS4.
HOW DO I CONTACT THE TEAM?
The team are apart of the Hogs Community Discord Server, so if you happen to have any questions for them or wish to contact them directly - you'll find them there. The discord also has a specific channel for Reheated discussion, so you'll also find progress updates over there as well.
MEET THE TEAM
The original Reheated team who got the project off the ground were made up of students from Sheffield Hallam University. Together they entered their earliest version of the project into the Game Republic 2019 Student Showcase Awards, eventually winning the Red Kite Games Award for Game Technology. The Reheated Team are currently made up of four members, two of whom you'll find below. The team consist of a Project Lead/Programmer, Lead Artist, Gameplay Programmer and a Graphics Programmer.
